I was reminded of this New Yorker cover when I found out that the New York Times just launched a Global Edition, which covers content from both NYT and the IHT, which, if I’m not mistaken, recently folded. OK, got subsumed back into its parent company.

Presumably, this global edition will give more frontpage real estate to stories from around the world - for people who don’t care about going into lengthy, sometimes arty discussions on the New York subway system, or just generally knowing way more about New York than someone living on the other side of the world probably should.
